The Railway Safety Regulator and Traxtion collaborate in the fight against level crossing incidents

On the eve of International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD), the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) and Traxtion will be conducting safety awareness campaigns in the North West.  In the last year, the region recorded the highest number of level crossing occurrences in the country.

This year, in commemorating ILCAD, the campaign kicks off in Virginia at the level crossing in Masimong (Welkom) on Wednesday, June 8. On Thursday, 9 June, the team will be visiting the Vaal Reefs Technical School in Klerksdorp to speak about railway career opportunities. The team will also visit a level crossing in Orkney in North West to conduct a safety awareness campaign.
