[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][ld_fancy_heading tag=”h2″]SOWETAN ISSUES APOLOGY TO THE RAILWAY SAFETY REGULATOR[/ld_fancy_heading][vc_column_text]On 22 May 2020, the Sowetan apologised unreservedly to the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) for publishing unverified allegations.

The Sowetan published an article with the headline “Dossier slams rail safety agency” on 19 February 2020.  The article in question was written as a result of a document that supposedly revealed maladministration at the RSR and has subsequently been retracted and removed from all online platforms.

The Sowetan has conceded that the allegations could not be verified beyond the mentioned document.  The RSR welcomes the apology and wishes to take this opportunity to invite all media to contact the RSR should they need assistance with factual accuracy for future articles related to the Regulator.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
